As per the Environmental (Protection) Act’1986 & EIA Notification 2006, the study on Environmental Impact Assessment has become essential for setting up of new industries, expansion, renovation of old industries or undertaking project works on road or water system. Based on experience gathered over several years on several industries including power plants, under construction and in operation, the Laboratory possesses a wide knowhow in the matter of conducting Environmental Impact Assessment.
The experimental surveys and theoretical evaluations carried out by the Laboratory concern atmosphere, water bodies, terrestrial resources, environmental noise, human health and agriculture. The fundamental steps of this activity are
Preparation of online application, Rain Water Harvesting Plan, Rain Water Harvesting layout plan, Hydro-geological Investigation Report and other related documents for obtaining NOC from CGWA/CGWB for ground water withdrawal.
Study of Geological features and Hydrological Investigation of particular area for fulfilling the statutory requirements of IBM, Govt. Mining Depts., MoEF & CC, CGWA/CGWB and others. Preparation and approval of mining plan for mines of major as well as minor minerals.
The scheme adopted by the Laboratory for an efficient and effective approach to improve the quality of the air in a given territorial context, concerns the evaluation of the contributions to air pollution from various existing sources.
The methodological scheme for the environmental surveys includes:
The characterization of emissions (macro and micro pollutants) from the various sources and the meteorological characterization of the basin to interpret the air quality patterns.
Systematic periodical measurement campaigns are carried out in the areas of maximum potential contribution to emissions, for the following parameters:
SO2, NOx, Dust, CO and Respirable Dust at ground level.
Forecast of thermal and chemical perturbations is carried out using integrated semi-empirical as well as numerical mathematical models.
The space-time configurations of physical and chemical perturbations, superimposed on the spatial distribution of the various habitat in which the biotic communities have been described, makes it possible to estimate possible modifications of the ecological structure by using site-specific mathematical models set by experimentation. Based on our study report, several projects have been cleared by that State Pollution Control Board and Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India.
The above is also taken up by highly qualified and experienced Environmentalists of Shiva Test House. The audit report / statement is required to be submitted to State Pollution Control Board before 30th Sept. of each year. Various industries are availing our services for the above on regular basis.
Preparation of Emergency Management Plan along with Risk & Consequence Analysis of various equipment’s, storage, release from industry are under statutory requirement of Factories Act and Environmental Protection Act. It is more important for hazardous unit as declared by Govt. under the above Act. SHIVA TEST HOUSE has been declared “COMPETENT INSTITUTION “by the Chief Inspector of Factories, Bihar under Factories Act to carry out the above study. It has completed the study for more than 50 industries on above and the report has been approved by Chief Inspector of Factories, Bihar.
Quality Control at various stages in a plant is the primary requirement for achieving the desired goal of production. Shiva Test House undertakes Chemical Testing of raw materials, testing of raw water, Boiler Feed Water, Cooling Water, Process Water, Process Gas, Exhaust Gas, Dust etc. inside the plant, Microbial fauling of cooling water, Microbiological test of water, Analysis for Radioactive substances & Organic Compounds in water & waste water.
