ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT

title

As per the Environmental (Protection) Act’1986 & EIA Notification 2006, the study on Environmental Impact Assessment has become essential for setting up of new industries, expansion, renovation of old industries or undertaking project works on road or water system. Based on experience gathered over several years on several industries including power plants, under construction and in operation, the Laboratory possesses a wide knowhow in the matter of conducting Environmental Impact Assessment.

The experimental surveys and theoretical evaluations carried out by the Laboratory concern atmosphere, water bodies, terrestrial resources, environmental noise, human health and agriculture. The fundamental steps of this activity are

PLANT CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION PHASE

  • Application of air quality mathematical models, in order to assist.

PLANT PROPOSAL PHASE

title
  • Environmental characterization of the site.
  • Identification of potential impacts of the plant construction and operation and forecasting by modelling of their quantitative aspects.
  • Identification of the corresponding mitigation interventions.
  • Identification of the parameters that can be used as ‘indicators’ for environmental monitoring.

  • Characterization of habitat mosaic by ground – level inspections
  • Quali-quantitative forecast evaluation of impacts on terrestrial biocenoses.
  • Air quality monitoring by bioindicators.
  • Phytological monitoring to survey the effects of atmospheric pollution on forests and agriculture.

ENVIRONMENTAL NOISE

title
  • Acoustic characterization of the area surrounding the site by experimental surveys and identification of noise sensitive areas.
  • Forecasting by mathematical models of plant’s construction and operation effects on environmental noise, checking compliance with regulations.
  • Hydro biological characterization and monitoring related to various tropic levels.
  • Application of mathematical models to forecast the dispersion of heat and chemical pollutants and their potential impact on biological resources.
  • Assistance in the conceptual design of plant’s intake and discharge works and in definition of mitigation measures of the impact on aquatic environment.
  • Bio-Assay Toxicity of Effluent on Fish or on the other species.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

title

Preparation of online application, Rain Water Harvesting Plan, Rain Water Harvesting layout plan, Hydro-geological Investigation Report and other related documents for obtaining NOC from CGWA/CGWB for ground water withdrawal.

GEOLOGICAL AND HYDROLOGICAL STUDY AND PREPARATION OF MINING PLAN AS PER REQUIREMENT OF IBM GUIDELINES AND BIHAR MINOR MINERAL RULES’2017

title

Study of Geological features and Hydrological Investigation of particular area for fulfilling the statutory requirements of IBM, Govt. Mining Depts., MoEF & CC, CGWA/CGWB and others. Preparation and approval of mining plan for mines of major as well as minor minerals.

AIR QUALITY ASSESSMENT AND IMPROVEMENT PLANS

title

The scheme adopted by the Laboratory for an efficient and effective approach to improve the quality of the air in a given territorial context, concerns the evaluation of the contributions to air pollution from various existing sources.

The methodological scheme for the environmental surveys includes:

The characterization of emissions (macro and micro pollutants) from the various sources and the meteorological characterization of the basin to interpret the air quality patterns.

MEASUREMENT CAMPAIGNS

title

Systematic periodical measurement campaigns are carried out in the areas of maximum potential contribution to emissions, for the following parameters:

SO2, NOx, Dust, CO and Respirable Dust at ground level.

FORECASTING EVALUATION OF THERMAL AND CHEMICAL PERTURBATIONS

title

Forecast of thermal and chemical perturbations is carried out using integrated semi-empirical as well as numerical mathematical models.

FORECASTING EVALUATION OF THE IMPACT ON AQUATIC BIOTIC COMMUNITIES

title

The space-time configurations of physical and chemical perturbations, superimposed on the spatial distribution of the various habitat in which the biotic communities have been described, makes it possible to estimate possible modifications of the ecological structure by using site-specific mathematical models set by experimentation. Based on our study report, several projects have been cleared by that State Pollution Control Board and Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India.

ENVIRONMENTAL AUDIT AND REPORT ON ENVIRONMENTAL STATEMENT

title

The above is also taken up by highly qualified and experienced Environmentalists of Shiva Test House. The audit report / statement is required to be submitted to State Pollution Control Board before 30th Sept. of each year. Various industries are availing our services for the above on regular basis.
